Due to the innovative system in combination with the large capacity of our cleaning machine, it is also no problem for Malacat to clean filters, catalytic converters and oil coolers from construction, industrial and agricultural machinery. With our cleaning method, we ensure that your particulate filter and/or catalytic converter works like an original new one again for a fraction of the new price.
- 1Why is the particulate filter clogged?
All new diesel vehicles are equipped with diesel particulate filters. Soot filters (DPF) filter soot particles (diesel soot) from the exhaust. These particles settle in the honeycomb of the particulate filter and block the passage, and more and more and more the filter. Once a certain back pressure in the filter is reached, the vehicle’s electronics initiate internal regeneration, burning the soot particles in the filter to ash. However, only part of the soot layers are affected by this combustion, so the filter is gradually filled with soot and ash.
- 2How much does it cost to clean a particulate filter?

- 3Can I clean the particulate filter myself?
It is possible but if not done professionally, it can lead to high costs.
We absolutely do not recommend this. - 4How often should a particulate filter be cleaned?
Depending on customers’ driving habits, short or medium/long trips. For example, soot filters can clog as early as about 70,000 km on short-haul vehicles, at about 100,000 km on medium-haul vehicles and from about 150,000 km on long-haul vehicles.
We recommend that you also clean the particulate filter at every major service. This is to ensure optimal operation of the particulate filter and not to cause damage to other parts.
- 5How does my filter come to Malacat DPF?
Have your diesel particulate filter (DPF) removed at a garage and send it to us, bring it or make a pick-up appointment. Depending on the distance (km), we also offer an express pick-up/drop-off service.
- 6How should my DPF be delivered?
Your diesel particulate filter (DPF) must be removed by a workshop. All attachments (sensors, hoses, etc.) can remain in place. We do not guarantee the functionality of attachments!
- 7 How long does the cleaning process take?
The cleaning itself normally takes 1 business day. In the best case scenario, the cleaned DPF / Cat can be delivered the next day. (Here you need to add shipping / delivery and installation times).
- 8How good is my diesel particulate filter (DPF) after cleaning?
After cleaning by Malacat DPF, particulate filters are almost as good as new. That means we remove at least 98% of the contamination.
Our cleaning method has been extensively internationally tested, certified and patented.
- 9What if my diesel particulate filter (DPF) cannot be cleaned after the inspection?
We can also recycle defective DPF and Cat. Ask about the possibilities.
